About This Item

livestrongtb.jpg

This travel bug honors my nephew, a cancer survivor diagnosed in October 2003 and now cancer-free for more than two years.

UPDATE 01/08: Nephew has just been released by his oncologist and told to live a normal life. Wow! There are no words...

UPDATE 03/20: Livestrong is back after over ten years MIA. Didn't see that coming. BTW, the nephew is still living strong and we have a new great nephew! Cache on!

"It’s one thing to live, but it’s another thing to live strong, to attack the day and attack your life with a whole new attitude. This was a gift for me. I guess before the illness I just lived. Now, after the illness, I live strong."

Grab It (Not from a Cache) 10/15/2009 Tcaches grabbed it   Visit Log

I found this bug in The Mothership in Newscastle WA, cache ID GCT8H3. Last logged visit there was over a month ago.

I'm lucky enough to not have personal experiences with cancer beyond a "It's probably nothing, but we should biopsy it..." event that turned out just fine. But that was scary enough for me.

Will find an appropriate place for this one to keep living strong.

Edit: Found this bug on the 5th anniversary of it's release, and after it had some rough travels. Talk about living strong!!

A BIG thank you to DreamingTao for rescuing LIVESTRONG from parts unknown where it has been lanquishing for over a year. He has thoughtfully replaced the missing bracelet and now the bug is ready to move again. Looks like this bug is a suvivor too. See the gallery for the "new look".
