Current Goal

This geocoin is dedicated to The Very Large Array, one of the world's premier astronomical radio observatories, consisting of 27 radio antennas in a Y-shaped configuration on the Plains of San Agustin fifty miles west of Socorro, New Mexico.

My mission is to visit astronomical observatories as well as other obscure places of interest that might not be as well known.

About This Item

NRAO - VLA

Each antenna is 25 meters (82 feet) in diameter. The data from the antennas is combined electronically to give the resolution of an antenna 36 km (22 miles) across, with the equivalent sensitivity of a dish 130 meters (422 feet) in diameter.

So happy to finally get some miles on this TB representing the VLA. I believe he was stuck in a cache for a couple years before he traveled anywhere. I hope you are able to see some scientific areas soon.

Voila!! I was able to grab this trackable from the Humphrey’s Center of New Mexico Cache. What a beautiful Ranch!! But, I believe it’s time to move on after 2 1/2 years!! Let’s stretch those legs, and move on down the road!!
