To be taken around the world to spread awareness about brain tumors. Feel free to add your story or a loved-ones!
This is a little seahorse trackable. I would like it to travel far and wide around the world to spread awareness about brain tumors. When I was 14 years old I was diagnosed with my first brain tumor. It was the size of a large grape fruit. Within hours of finding it I was rushed to a children’s hospital where I had emergency surgery that lasted 13 hours. Unfortunately they couldn’t resect the entire tumor due to the proximity to my optic nerve and carotid artery. The tumor was watched for a little while and started to grow again when I was 16. I had my second brain surgery, and thankfully they were able to remove the entire tumor that time. I went for proton radiation treatment and had clean scans for almost 8 years. Now I’m Marxh of 2019 I’ve been told I have another tumor growing, and I had to schedule my 3rd brain surgery for May 21st 2019. I hope one day there will be a cure! #graymatters
Despite the amount of brain tumors, and their devastating prognosis, there have only been four (4) FDA approved drugs – and one device – to treat brain tumors in the past 30 years.
