I am a Kiwi from New Zealand. Although I am a flightless bird, I do love to travel. I am one member of a large family of Kiwi Trackables, each on our own solo journey around the world. Each Kiwi’s goal is to see as many countries of the world as possible. If you find one of my family members, please log them and take them on some caching adventures with you! Day tour to Rovaniemi 🇫🇮.

This virtual was on my cache wish list.

The hard rock band Lordi won the Eurovision Song Contest as the first Finnish participant ever back in 2006 with the song Hard Rock Hallelujah, founded in Rovaniemi 1992. After the win 🥇 there was a statue raised on the square in Rovaniemi, that now has this associated virtual cache. Also I think the square has changed name.

This year (2023) Finland almost won, however Sweden bet them 🇸🇪, second time that Loreen won, this time with the song Tattoo, last time with Euphoria (2012).

In Posio and Korouma, Lappi 🇫🇮 during the day. Solved a mystery but big take was Korouma canyon, u fortunately cache there was disabled but scenery quite impressive.

Today, a major walking day, ended up with more than 17000 steps (counted with the phone). First a trail up to Valtavaara in Ruka, then visited two water associated sites in the Oulanka Nationapark. I really find the sand accumulations interesting (and will do some research before sending in replies to the EC's passed by).

Something I don't like though, are the hanging bridges and family members picking up their phones while on it. For some reason I panic, expecting worst case.

Oh, well, all went well and had a magnificent day in the nice weather.

Visited 10 years ago but that was pre-geocaching, and also pre virtual rewards. So have plenty to catch up on this, great - there is never a dull moment. Maybe just, impatient family members... 😉
