29.12.2010 Update:
Thanks to Pavelina I got my little TB back and I will try to find a new Philosopher's stone to attach it to before it will continue it's journey...

25.12.2010 Update:
Unfortunately someone seems to have removed the stone and only the dog tag is left... What a shame!
Therefore, please get it get back to Germany, preferably Northrhine-Westfalia, so that I can collect it and attach a new stone to it. Thanks!

Dear Cachers, the Philosopher’s Stone is a substance, which transforms all base metals into gold. It is also known to be an all-purpose remedy, if it is pulverized to a fine powder and taken with distilled water. During one of our numerous treasure hunts, we discovered this stone. Unfortunately, we cannot use it as we do not know the magic formula for activating the stone. If you have an idea, what this formula could sound like, please write it down into the online diary of our Travelbug. We are looking forward to getting many creative suggestions!

About This Item

In the week or so I've been in possession of the "Stein der Weisen" I've tried many things to squeeze out it's secrets.

The first thing I tried was to just suck on the stone and see if it would impart any regenerative powers my way. Despite it's oily taste I think it might have helped a little with a nagging pain I've been experiencing after a minor surgery. At least I think I could ride a horse now without wincing.

After that modicum of success I thought I should try my hand at some transmutation. I was a little skeptical. If it worked why wouldn't it just change the travel bug into gold? But I might as well try. The first thing I had handy was an aluminum beer can. After a lot of rubbing the best I can do is get it to change into a "Silver Bullet" (Which came in handy when I encountered some werewolves a few hours later. I gave them a few Coors Lights and we howled the night away listening to Bob Seger)

On my final attempt I crushed a bit of the stone into a fine powder. I tried adding it to quite a few different solutions and potions. Almost of all of them failed to do anything. All but one that is. I found a pdf on the web describing how the ancient Egyptians made a magical solution that was both restorative and transformational.

Following the recipe, I added some of the crushed stone to some water then added in some hops and barely and a few other grains and then just a touch of yeast and heated it in a large copper pot. What resulted was pure liquid gold! A true nectar of the gods! After a few drinks of the new mixture you start feeling like superman. You can accomplish anything, it even makes you the funniest person in the room! The mixture can even have a great effect on your bank account! Truly transformative! It's so great I have sold the formula to a bottling company in order to share it's wonderful goodness with the rest of the world. So look for STEINS de WEIZEN at a store near you. (my favorite is the hefeWeizen)

  • My favorite Stein This Stein reminds me of Captain V. Hiking and birds and German's and now beer!

I think I am slowly learning some of the stone's secrets. I have had to travel far to ask wise, old Beverly for some help...
