This travel bug started its journey in a cache called Martyr (GC138YY), and is a celebration of the life (and death) of a local missionary by the name of John Coleridge Patteson.
J.C. Patteson grew up in East Devon and became curate of the chapel in Alfington. Patteson sailed to the South Seas and worked throughout Melanesia.
St. Barnabas Chapel, on Norfolk Island, was built as a memorial to the life and work of Patteson, and it would be great if this spider could make a return pilgramage - the Melanesian Brothers visited Alfington recently and left a carving.
