Anne Bonny was an Irish pirate operating in the Caribbean, and one of the most famous female pirates of all time.
Bonny was born (Cormac) in County Cork, Ireland in 1697 and moved to London and then to the Province of Carolina when she was about 10 years old.
She met and fell in love with small-time pirate, James Bonny and married him round 1713 and moved to Nassau in the Bahamas, a sanctuary for pirates. it was there she met Calico Jack Rackman and ran away to became his pirate partner and lover.
She was captured alongside Rackham in October 1720 and both were sentenced to death but Bonny had her execution stayed because she was pregnant.
Her father paid a ransom for her and took her back to Charles Town and she gave birth to Rackham's child in 1721, she remarried to Joseph Burleigh. they had 8 children and she died on Aprill 25 1782 in South Carolina.
She was a real life Pirate unlike the Fiction of Treasure Island.
