Current Goal

To travel the world and visit megas/gigas in Australia!

It would like to travel around the world as safely as possible. Please only drop this tag into secure caches that are away from muggle-prone areas. Also feel free to take this trackable to events.

About This Item

I recieved this cattle tag as part of my registration kit at the St Arnaud mega event in November 2019. It was a top mega; with lots of fun games, caches, lab cache; and a wonderful country town with lots of historical sites and lots of lovely people.

Tag is attached to a plush, dark pink squirrel.

I didn't realise this was a brand new TB.

Not being quite as mad, eh passionate about geocaching as DarksideDean, my logs will be a bit shorter.

Thanks again for putting on the event. Events always get me up and doing a bit more caching.

It might be a bit of a challenge though to find a cache big enough for this.

    G'Day My Fellow Geocacher,

I’m DARKSIDEDAN aka Daniel from Canberra, Australia and I have had the pleasure of finding your Trackable Item during my travels as a Geocacher. I have added this trackable to my growing list of discovered items.

DISCOVERED AT THE FESTIVUS EVENT 23/12/19

I love discovering Geocaches, Trackable items and collecting Pathtags. I hope that you enjoy Geocaching as much as I do. For me geocaching is a way of life. When I am not Geocaching, I am thinking of Geocaching. I would like to say a very big thank you for releasing your trackable for the Geocaching Community.

Here is a little information about me. I have been geocaching since 2015. At the time of finding this cache I have over 6750 finds plus 400 hides. I am the creator of the “Duck Dip” Lab Cache that won 2nd Place for the Australian Capital Territory in the State Vs State - Battle of the Lab Caches at the OzGeoMuster - The Gong Mega 2019 in Wollongong, Australia.

It was my love of Geocaching that helped me find my Wife. I have dedicated a Geocache to her that explains how Geocaching brought us together. That Cache is The Blueiris of Tidbinbilla by DARKSIDEDAN. | GC80WHA | Australian Capital Territory, Australia.

Now let’s talk Pathtags. Currently I have over 7400 Pathtags in my collection plus about 500 EXtagz. I currently have two of my own Pathtags (45762 & 46950) with another one in the works.

In 2019, I won the right to place a Virtual 2.0 Cache from Geocaching.com, but I have not placed it yet. I am just trying to find somewhere that is worthy of a Virtual Cache.

Here is an Original and One of a Kind, Geocaching Poem that I have written. I hope that everyone who reads it gets some enjoyment out of it.

    Geocache Poem by DARKSIDEDAN

My endless search goes on and on
Looking for treasures of every kind
Always chasing just one more find
Putting past DNF’s out of my mind
I step out into the world outside,
Seeking what is hidden from me
What size, shape or form will it be?
Only time will tell, I can’t wait to see
Will I find my prize at the end?
I will search in the failing light and cold
Filling with despair having looked everywhere
Where is this thing that gives my life pleasure?
Looking all around from every angle
I read the logs and check the hint
I curse out loud as I walk in circles
Screaming the bloody thing it not there
As time flies by and I fail to see,
    Never once stopping to realize
It always been there before my eyes
No need for sorrow, there’s the Geocache.
