Martins roter Duplo-Stein

Martins roter Duplo-Stein möchte an möglichst viele schöne Orte auf der ganzen Welt reisen. Schön wäre es, wenn er dabei auch Israel und Hawaii besuchen könnte.

Natürlich wäre es schön, wenn du unterwegs das eine oder andere Foto von ihm machen würdest.

Martin's red Duplo brick would like to travel to as many beautiful places around the world as possible. It would be nice if it could visit Israel and Hawaii along the way.

Of course, it would be nice if you took a photo or two of him along the way.

Ich liebe Lego. Daher war es nicht erstaunlich, dass mir BS4478 zu meinem Geburtstag ein Lego Dog-Tag schenkte. Natürlich muss dieser Lego Dog-Tag auch an einen Lego Travelbug gehängt werden. Leider ist mir jedoch lange nicht eingefallen, was das sein könnte. Eine kleine Lego Konstruktion würde wohl auf der Reise nicht lange überleben. Doch dann kam mir die Idee.

Dieser Duplo-Stein gehörte meinem Bruder Martin. Meine Eltern schenkten ihm ein simples Duplo Set, bestehend aus nur ein paar wenigen 2x4 Steinen von ihrem dazumals hart erspartem Geld. Jahre später schenkte mein Bruder mir seine Duplo-Steine.

Martin starb leider, als er 30 Jahre alt war. Das war im Jahr 1996. Als Andenken an ihn schicke ich nun diesen roten Duplo-Stein als Travelbug auf Weltreise. Da mein Bruder selber auch sehr gerne reiste, denke ich, dass ihm die Idee sehr gut gefallen würde.

I love Lego. So it was not surprising that BS4478 gave me a Lego dog tag for my birthday. Of course, this Lego dog tag has to be attached to a Lego travelbug. However, I couldn't think of what that could be for a long time. A small Lego construction would probably not survive long on the journey. But then the idea came to me.

This Duplo brick belonged to my brother Martin. My parents gave him a simple Duplo set, consisting of only a few 2x4 bricks from their hard-earnd money. Years later, my brother gave me his Duplo bricks.

Martin unfortunately died when he was 30 years old. That was in 1996. In memory of him, I am now sending this red Duplo brick on a trip around the world as a travel bug. Since my brother also loved to travel, I think he would have liked that idea very much.
