Current Goal

**Current Mission**

Since the coin has completed its primary mission of reaching Cuba we would like to get it back into the hands of Mrs Lost Cat. Ideally we would like to get the coin to somewhere in a 200 mile radius of Greensboro/Winston Salem North Carolina. If you are going to drop it off if you could drop a quick message letting me know so that I can plan to head in that direction I would appreciate it. Thanks to all of you who have helped get this trackable to fulfill it mission.

**MIssion Complete**

To travel to Cuba - Obviously, the coin will have to reach Canada or be picked up by a foreign tourist to reach its final destination. We have checked and there are caches in Cuba. An even better option may be that one of our fine Sailors, Soldiers or Airmen will simply take it to Guantanamo.

About This Item

This coin was launched in memory of Mrs Lost Cat's father, Jim Bock. He was in the US Navy before Cuba fell to Castro. His home port was in Key West, but his ship often traveled to Cuba. Jim often told Mrs Lost Cat stories about Cuba when she was just a Lost "Kitten". The Cuba stories were of sailing though hurricanes to get to Cuba, baseball tournaments won against locals and other sailors, bumping into Senior Naval Officers in off-limits bars and of course the bar fights that sailors get into. (It is pretty amazing that he went on to become a Baptist Minister after spending time in Havana.) Mrs Lost Cat's mom even carried a photo in her wallet that showed her sailor standing by the ship's railing while he was in Havana Harbor. Jim passed away in 1982, and is greatly missed. The Lost Cats are looking forward to the day that the travel restrictions are lifted, and they can lift a mug of beer & smoke a cigar in Jim's honor.
