Hi there! I'm the Brack Man. Mom brought me home on Mammas Day to live with her and my fur buddies.
I was skinny and couldn't hold down food or it leaked out the other end. My fur was falling out in clumps and my hip bones stuck out like Mick Jagger's.
Mammas thought and thought and took me to her friend at the vet's office who gave me a bunch of tests and determined I need weekly vitamin B12 shots and meatballs! Well, not really. Mammas started feeding me meatballs before she got the results of my tests which show I'm pretty much allergic to everything dogs crave....beef, peanut butter, dairy, dry dog foods and household dust. Her friend, Becky, at Ruff Life Lombard, told mammas that I need raw Duck patties and goat milk pupicles. Oh man, those are the best crunchy cold treat a Husky could ever bark for!
Anyway, I digress while I digest....I missed my meatballs so mammas found a way to make her super puppy special recipe with Ground Turkey thigh meat instead. These are even better! Here is the recipe in case you have Allergeeez like me and your mammas wants to help make you floffy like me!
Brack Man Snack Bar Meatballs
Buy a bunch of quart size Z-lock freezer bags cuz each batch of these will yield 40 Brack Balls! Mom puts 4 in a bag so she has 10 bags total. When she first started giving me meatballs, I was only weighed 43 pounds so she gave me 4 meatballs (2 at each meal) a day. Now I weigh a healthy 60 pounds and mammas only gives me one meatball a day with my duck patties (2). I try hard to convince her to give me more and you can read about my debates with her on FB at the Brack Man Snack Bar. Here's the recipe~
5 pounds of ground turkey thigh meat
half box of Total Cereal
half box of Oatmeal (mammas only buys organic)
half jar of wheat germ (yes, they still make that!)
3/4 cup of Duck fat or coconut oil (buy it at the human store, it's cheaper than at the doggie stores, even the organic brands!)
3/4 cup of unsulfured molasses (yeah, I know...gross but we dogs love it!)
5 raw eggs AND shells (don't knock it until you try it)
5 envelopes of unflavored gelatin
a pinch of salt
Mix all the ingredients together (mammas blends the eggs, oil and molasses in the blender), much like your mammas would if she was making a meatloaf.
Divide into 10 quart freezer bags and freeze (4 per bag).
Thaw as needed and feed raw. YUM!!
Please get me to Ruff Life Lombard in time for the big Halloween celebration
