ABBREVIATED RULES The 2021 TI Math Love Geocaching Photo Contest is open only to U.S. residents 13 years of age or older. No purchase necessary to enter or win. You can participate by receiving or finding a TI Spread Math Love geocaching trackable game piece from Groundspeak, Inc. and submitting a photograph of it to your public Twitter or Instagram with #SpreadMathLove and #TICacheContest. During each of seven judging periods between June 1 and December 31, 2021, Texas Instruments will award one TI-84 Plus CE calculator or TI-Nspire CX II graphing calculator (7 first-place winners) and four Math Love Swag Packs (28 honorable-mention winners).

This trackable was provided by Texas Instruments and their attempt to spread MATH LOVE.  What better way than to give a nod to Sir Isaac Newton?  Sir Isaac Newton was a physicist and mathematician who made great strides in mathematics and science.  He was born in Woolsthorpe, Lincolnshire, England.  He was enrolled at the King’s School in Grantham, England where he was introduced to chemistry.  From there he studied at the University of Cambridge’s Trinity College, where he eventually became a professor.  Here are a few of his accomplishments:

  • Invented the reflecting telescope
  • Discovered calculus
  • Advanced early modern chemistry
  • Proposed new theory of light and color
  • Developed the three laws of motion
  • Devised law of universal gravitation

The goal of this trackable is Grantham, England or Lincolnshire, England. Premium Cache Member placement preferred.  Avoid high muggle areas to avoid trackable from being stolen.  Trackable is in plastic to prevent from getting dirty.  If plastic becomes damaged, please replace.  Safe travels and keep him moving please!  Happy Caching!

This trackable was provided by Texas Instruments (TI) to promote MATH LOVE.  Although we're not teachers, one of us works with math daily as an accountant and one of us works in pharmacy and also uses math frequently.  

Texas Instruments (TI) is inviting geocachers to spread math love heart. Whether you already have an affinity for arithmetic, or you’re a numbers newcomer who’s just discovering this joy for the first time, this geocaching experience has something you’ll love.
