I maintain records on my trackables. They have the goal to circulate more than five years and to be moved by at least 25 cachers. That is a target rate of five drops per year for five years, or a drop every 73 days. The average drop rate of my trackables in the US is 124 days, in Europe it is 71 days. As of 13-Jan-24 this trackable had survived for 2.0 years and had been moved by 5 cachers, for an average drop every 146 days, or 2.5 drops per year.
Please keep it moving, then drop it in a safe place!
No permission is needed to leave the U.S. While in the U.S., please drop it at an event, in a Premium Member only OR a rural cache near a busy trail or road. Do not place it in an urban, non-premium cache. Transport the bug in the original plastic bag for as long as the bag lasts; the bag keeps the trackable clean and dry, protects the number and prevents tangling with other items. Otherwise, take the trackable anywhere you wish.
This is one of a series of images of flags of cities from around the world. Some suggest historical events, other reflect local geography or commerce and still others have simple, attractive modern designs. Whatever the case, there is a feature of each that is interesting, at least to me. Much of the text that follows is edited from Wikipedia.
The logo on the flag stylized form of 高 which Google Translate suggests means something like tall, high or lofty.
Since founding in the 17th century, Kaohsiung has grown from a small trading village into the political and economic center of southern Taiwan, with key industries such as manufacturing, steel-making, oil refining, freight transport and shipbuilding. The Port of Kaohsiung is the largest and busiest harbor in Taiwan while Kaohsiung International Airport is the second busiest airport in number of passengers. The city is well-connected to other major cities by high speed and conventional rail, as well as several national freeways. It also hosts the Republic of China Navy fleet headquarters and its naval academy. More recent public works such as Pier-2 Art Center, National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts and Kaohsiung Music Center have been aimed at growing the tourism and cultural industries of the city.
