I walked Where the Antelope Play, some of the way, with my daughter who has diabetes. She loves to find the Geocaches. I found the Vepagunta TB and thought I would share her story. It was one year and one day when we found out that she had type one diabetes. She was two years old when we she was put into the hospital. Life has really change for us. We have to take her sugar at least 10 times a day, because she is so young, she has to have anywhere between 5-8 shots a day (she is to young for a Pump). Because she is three it is hard to know what she snuck from the fridge or cupboards. Some days are harder than others, even after the night camping(while I was on a run searching for a cache) she woke up and was puking everything up and was really sick. Her Ketones were high, we thought we were going to have to end our trip early, but we were able to stabalize her blood sugar, and she started to feel better, and we were able to finish our trip. We had a great trip, It was a small incident but it is a life changing disease that we have to deal with everyday.
