Woot! This bug and I have a history together, and it is the second time in four years our paths have crossed! To be honest when I saw that I was nearby I made a very special trip to pick up this TB! Somewhat over two hundred miles round trip to grab a travel bug, but hey, it was a great day trip. and like I say we have history. Back on July 28 of 2005, my sister and I were caching in New Jersey, where I was living at the time.
We found this bug in Ducks Galore and it eventually made it back out to Denver with my sister when she went home. She was a caching newbie and I'd only just infected her with geocaching. In fact on her log entry for Hannah's cache, it was my hand the lid to the cache up while she took the picture. Mainly because she couldn't hold the lid and shoot at the same time. Anyway, I held the lid, you can tell because my mails grow like weeds in the summer, and her's hardly ever do. So I'm going to reattach that shot for posterity. The other shot is my sister at Ducks Glore picking up the TB in the first place. Of course, since she couldn't be in the shot while taking it, I shot the picture.
So when I saw the bug nearby I made a special trip to get it. So many memories attached to one travel bug! More pictures soon as I move it along. With luck I'll find another tupperware container to put it in
The other sweet irony in all this, Good Old Crazy in the Army, Colonel Flagg dropped this bug, and while I'm Air Force and have a higher security clearance than Colonel Flagg, I'm though it was priceless that I should nab the bug right after another famous Col should drip it. Who news, maybe I'll take this through the Stargate?
