Current Goal

TLDR:  You are a Ringbearer. The final goal is to get the Ring to a live volcano and chuck it in.  Your duty as a Ringbearer is to take the ring with you on your travels, visiting caches, until you can drop it off in a cache for another Ringbearer to find and continue the journey to Mt. Doom. If you can chuck the ring into an actual, real life, live volcano and video record it, that'd be great. Photos of your travels will be greatly appreciated!

Remember kids, safety first!

About This Item

The One Ring is both Perilous and Precious. It forever seeks to return to its Master, willing itself to be found. If Sauron reclaims it, Middle Earth is doomed. This cannot come to pass.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to leave the safety and peace of the Shire behind, wander this Middle Earth, find a way into Mordor, and destroy Sauron's power for once and for all. The One Ring must be chucked into the fiery volcano known as Mt. Doom ... that is, if you do not succumb to the will of the Precious, and you can bear to release it and see it destroyed!

This task is appointed for you, and if you do not find a way, no one will.

This is no there and back story. The journey will be fraught with both dangers and wonders. Bring such friends with you as are willing to go. At times you may need them to help you carry the burden to the final goal. The fate of all who dwell in Middle Earth depends on you.

Don't forget the lembas! And some good rope, you know you'll be wanting it.

PS. Photos of your journey will be much appreciated. If you actually manage to chuck The Precious into a live volcano, please do your best Hobbit impression and video record it. Beware ill-favored, gangly creatures wanting to steal it from you at the precipice.

PSS. Keep it secret, keep it safe. Do not use it! Sure, the invisibility would be a great help in thwarting muggles hanging around GZ, but do you really need a pack of ringwraiths chasing after you?

Good luck in your task, and may the Light of Elendil guide you and protect you.

PSSS. I seem to be having trouble letting go of this one. Help me.

This is a Parícutin trackable with a novelty "One Ring" hitchhiker and a watercolor mission card, laminated for protection. Please do not separate hitchhikers from trackable, and please move to a new cache. Thank you for your Ringbearer services. Your sacrifice and bravery will surely earn you a place in the Undying Lands with the Elves.

Ringbearer OneStitch has carried The Precious 2040.1 miles before finally releasing this heavy burden in Coralville Lake's Shire. Fare thee well with pure heart and courage for your friends, future Ringbearers.
