Visited 8/1/2023 Wombatwandering took it to Ship building and the Military since AD1512-Bonus London, United Kingdom - 8.46 miles  Visit Log

Took a trip to Woolwich in East London on the River Thames for some challenge caches. The Woolwich Royal Arsenal has a 500-year history as a place where weaponry was developed, tested and manufactured. From its beginnings as a dockyard making ships for Henry VIII, it can claim a pivotal role in shaping the course of global history. It played an important part in developing the technologies of the Industrial Revolution and was central to British efforts in The First World War. Lots of urban renewal happening now. 💣

Had an appointment in the city and then I took you for a wander through London. Stopped by Buckingham Palace but King Charles III was not there. So many tourists. 🏢

I still have lots of new house stuff to deal with so you are staying close to home and just going for a wander around Chiswick House and Gardens today. I was looking for this cache and a rat ran into my leg. I’ve never had that happen before. Unpleasant and I’m not even rat phobic. 🐀

Visited 7/28/2023 Wombatwandering took it to Caching Event: Strange New Worlds London, United Kingdom - 11.75 miles  Visit Log

Into London for an event on a roof garden overlooking the British Museum. Its permanent collection of eight million works is the largest in the world. Headed there after the event to see the Rosetta Stone. Crazy busy with school holidays and people taking selfies so getting a TB photo with it was not going to happen. 🐪

Visited 7/26/2023 Wombatwandering took it to TRAM SideTracked - Mitcham London, United Kingdom - 11.98 miles  Visit Log

Zoomed down to Mitcham, south London, to grab some Tram Sidetracked caches to boost my numbers as I’ve been ignoring them lately. It is thought that Mitcham and other Thames plain settlements were some of the first populated by the Anglo-Saxons. The Anglo-Saxon graveyard next to the Wandle River is the largest discovered to date, and many of the finds from it are on display in the British Museum. 🚃

Visited 7/24/2023 Wombatwandering took it to Church Micro 2399... St Johns, Sidcup London, United Kingdom - 10.23 miles  Visit Log

Needed to get away from all the boxes so I took you to Sidcup in south east London. The artist and illustrator Quentin Blake was born there. Turned out to be a wet day and I got stuck on a frustrating multi. 📦

Visited 7/22/2023 Wombatwandering took it to O Where O Where Can That Little Cache Be? London, United Kingdom - 13.84 miles  Visit Log

Resurfacing after a house move. There are too many things going on in my life atm. Wandered into Liverpool Street Station in London for an event. The station served as the entry point for 10,000 child refugees arriving in London from mainland Europe as part of the Kindertransport rescue mission prior to the start of WWII. Most of the children never saw their parents again. 🧳

Visited 7/16/2023 Wombatwandering took it to A30 – 284 miles to Land’s End London, United Kingdom - 16.95 miles  Visit Log

I dropped Ex-Geocachpro off at the airport and then thought I’d find some caches to take my mind off things. The road to Land’s End, the most westerly point of mainland England, begins here. I’ve been to Land’s End but I didn’t take the road. I walked there on the South West Coast Path, a national long distance walk in England. I thought it would be a wild and remote place so it was a bit disappointing to find out it’s an crappy amusement park. 🎪

Visited 7/15/2023 Wombatwandering took it to NOSE: Garden this way London, United Kingdom - 9.21 miles  Visit Log

Tonight was GeocachPro’s last night in The United Kingdom before he heads to his new life in our home country. He’s even changed his geocaching name. We decided that a visit to Abba Voyage was a fitting send off. What a great show! Both Mr Wombat and I were lucky enough to see real life ABBA when we were growing up. So Long, see you honey, go and Bang A Boomerang. 🙋‍♀️

Visited 7/14/2023 Wombatwandering took it to SideTracked - White City (the TRAD version) London, United Kingdom - 6.96 miles  Visit Log

Rain, rain, rain. Met up with Goldenwattle in Shepherd’s Bush and helped her find a selection of Sidetracked caches for her growing collection. There was only one unfound one for me there but it wasn’t a nice day to be caching anyway. ☔️
