This bug wants to travel with you to United States historical spots. He would like to visit historical museums, war reenactments, living history sites, battle grounds, forts, places maintained by preservation societies, archaeological digs, and the like. Please post pictures of this TB's travels.
I began my Webelos I year of Cub Scouts a month before this TB was released. One of our July activities was to camp overnight on the USS Massachusetts, a battleship. I explored the USS Lionfish, a submarine, USS Joseph P. Kennedy, Jr., a destroyer, a couple of PT boats, a landing craft, and the Hiddensee, a Soviet-built Tarantul I class missile corvette, from the East German People’s Navy. Each of these ships displayed many historical facts and memorabilia. I climbed all around and in and out of these ships. I even learned some Morse code. It was a BLAST!
I also attended two war re-enactments last year - the Revolutionary War at Fort Ticonderoga as a day visit and the Civil War in Tunbridge as an overnight camping experience. They both offered many hands-on learning opportunities for everyone in the group including marching in formation and playing games of the times. A WHOLE LOT MORE FUN THAN THOSE STUFFY HISTORY BOOKS!!!

Our family and our bigger Cub Scout family had an amazing time on the trip to Battleship Cove. There were many excited oohs and aahs from children AND parents. At times, it was hard to tell who was having more fun. 😁
I'm glad my son decided to take a souvenier from here and turn it into a TB with hopes of finding similar locations. History is much better hands on than in a book!!! 😉
