Current Goal

I would love to travel the world and go on grand adventures. I would particularly love to visit northern places like Alaska, northern Canada and the Scandinavian countries. Places that I might be able to meet other reindeer. Or at least get in some good skating. But keep me safe and don't forget to log me in when retrieving and when dropping off. Thanks and Happy Caching!

Vancouver, Washington.
This was done yesterday, no time to log it.
A pit stop at a the rest area on our way to a weekend camping trip. The actual cache was a pill bottle in a cavity at the base of a tree. The TBs are pictured by the restroom about 200’ away.

This is a relatively new cache in my hometown. The TBs are pictured at the base of the tree at ground zero. The cache is a small bison tube. It’s about eye level and hidden within the tree moss. Nicely camouflaged. Can’t see the cache. I spotted the fishing line it’s attached to.

This was a large cache container hidden within a very nice visitor center. The friendly staff, lots of information and all made it earn a favorite point from me. The TBs are pictured on the front counter.

Barrow, Alaska.
The trackables are pictured on a memorial to Will Rogers, which is ground zero of a virtual cache here. Directly behind me is a rather interesting sign post with arrows pointing to various places around the globe. The arrows also notate the distance from up here. All are in the thousands of miles away from this remote outpost.

Barrow, Alaska.
I found a traditional cache and was FTF for 2024. In fact, none of the few caches up here have been found since last Fall. This one was a fake hollow bolt in the signpost. It’s located about 5’ above ground and above the snow line. It’s next to my bag of trackables that I’m holding. Completely frozen over Arctic Ocean is just behind me.

“GC 9D6C0 Whale Bone Arch Cache”
Barrow, Alaska.
Same cache and location note from yesterday. This is the whalebone arch I referenced in that write up. The Marquee landmark here. Arctic Ocean is directly behind me. The TBs are in the little bag in my hand on the arch. Too cold to get them out and didn’t want to chance losing them in the snow.

Barrow, Alaska.
This is as far North as one can go in the US. We are among the farthest North of any city in the world as well. There are no trees, bushes or anything else on the frozen snow covered landscape. This picture with the TBs was taken yesterday out in front of where we are staying- Top of the World ocean front hotel. The trackables are pictured at the site of a geocache.
“GC 9D6C0 Whale Bone Arch Cache”. However, I was unable to find the cache and sign the log. It’s under deep snow and ice. So I can’t log it as a find and this entry is just write a note with a picture. Due to the conditions, I have not been able to log any “find” here yet. Luckily there is a “Virtual Cache” in town and at least I’ll log that today. The big whalebone arch is just to the right of the TBs picture and out of view. Behind the trackables is the completely frozen over Arctic Ocean. It was +12* outside with a 10 mph wind at the time of the picture.

Anchorage, Alaska
It’s 30*, snowing and about a foot of snow on the ground. Makes it far more difficult to cache. This one is a magnetic on the back of the brown post on the right. Time to head back to the airport for the next leg of the journey.
