To hang out with rock lovers - hounds, climbers, crushers, haulers, etc. Take lots of pictures of my adventures!
This is a small piece of a large quarry rock crusher that met its demise in an explosive furry of dust and gravel. The materiel is most curious - it's extremely dense (so it can survive the rock impacts), is slightly magnetic, but doesn't seem to rust. I placed it on a scale and it weighs in at just over 4 pounds. We've tried to drill a hole into it three times but to no avail! So, a friend welded on something to attach the tag to.
Feel free to guess what this is made of. No, it's not depleted uranium... :)
