Current Goal

New Goal 6/3/2010: Our trip to see our daughter has now come and gone. Unfortunately, none of the Flamingos made it to the Portland, ME area in time for us to "discover" them. (See below). My new mission, once in the Portland area is to be hung on the screen door knob at 40 Scamman St., South Portland. Thanks so much for helping us play this little prank.

My mission is to get to the Portland, Maine area. I’m one of a flock of 13 Flamingos flying to see our “Aunt”. I’d love to be seen in the company of other Flamingos. Photos are always welcome.

About This Item

While our daughter was attending school at Clemson in 2001, 2 gaudy pink Flamingos were stolen from in front of her house. Several members of the family took it upon themselves to start anonymously sending Flamingos from locations all over the United States. To this day she doesn’t know who did it. This is one of 13 Flamingo TBs all with the same mission. We plan on taking her geocaching for the first time this fall while we’re visiting her in Maine. We’d love it if this Flamingo was in a cache in the Portland, Maine area so we could “find” it while we’re there.

HAD TO LOG THIS CUTE GUY WHILE I HAD THE CACHE IN HAND. THE CACHE WILL BE BACK UP SOON AND THIS GUY WILL BE IN IT. HAD TO PULL THE CACHE DUE TO FLOODING THE LAST TWO DAYS.

June 28, 2008 Yahoo, we delivered this Flamingo to our daughter in Cape Cod and she will be placing it into a “nest” cache soon.

As you can see this bird has not made it very far. I thought it look like one I had picked up before but was not sure. Quess I was mistaken. Will find him a new home in hopes it will find its way out of the mountains.
