We began searching for this cache by thinking only of one part of the hints. Which, although was a mistake, was a beautiful stunning breathtaking detour. We were in awe of this location- and could not believe we hadn’t been here before! What have we been missing!!! We managed to see literally hundreds of turtles, trumpet swans, beaver, dragonflies, ducks, baby ducks, all kinds of birds, an American toad, and more. We were able to identify many of the creatures by reading the sign by GZ (which is sadly vandalized with graffiti). We realized we were going the wrong way and knew exactly where we needed to be. I can’t believe they let a developer build this giant mansion in the middle of this natural environment. I hope they will turn it into some kind of public space. They won’t, but they should. Finding the cache was easy. Tiny thing. Signed the log and left a mini swag item. We spent some time learning more about the animals. Glad we put sun block on because it’s soooo hot out today. Super favourite for the detour, GZ location, and education. We will certainly be back to enjoy this beautiful location again.
