Purpose for
the Frasier Travel Bug
This travel bug is being released as an homage to what many consider
the best comedy, and certainly the most intellectually stimulating comedy, in
years, perhaps ever. The cast of Frasier entertained millions for 11 seasons,
securing 31 Emmy awards during that time. Moreover, the character of Frasier
Crane has enamored television viewers for 20 years; a testament to the likable
personality of Kelsey Grammar and the extraordinary talent of the writers and
producers who made Cheers a success and later parlayed that same success into
a new franchise called Frasier.
Frasier aired for the last time in May 2004. Although Frasier will live
on in each of our imaginations (and certainly in syndication), we'll still "miss
the coffees"...
Waypoints/Destinations
for this Travel Bug
Origin: Queen Anne Cardio Cache (GCHVAP)
Waypoint #1:
Is to have a photograph taken of a cacher holding the travel bug with the Space
Needle in the background. This vantage point is best achieved from somewhere
atop Queen Anne Hill looking south over the city. The photo should be posted
to this page along with a log entry.
COMPLETED ON 11/7/2004
Waypoint #2:
Is to have a photograph taken of a regular Frasier cast member holding the travel
bug. The photo should be uploaded to this page and a log entry recorded detailing
the events around how the photo op was obtained. (Eligible cast members are:
Kelsey Grammar, David Hyde Pierce, John Mahoney, Jane Leeves, or Peri Gilpin.
"Eddie", the dog, does not qualify as someone could take a photo with
any Jack Russell Terrier which would call into question the genuineness of the
photo.)
Waypoint #3 Is the actual Cheers Bar in Boston (84
Beacon Street, Boston, MA 02108). A photograph of a cacher holding the travel
bug inside Cheers Bar should be taken and posted to this page along with a log
entry.
COMPLETED ON 6/15/2005
Upon Reaching Final Destination: Abner_Ravenwood_US
should be contacted immediately so arrangements can be made for its return to Seattle where it will be retired.
