The goal of this Boomerang TB WAS to reach France, host country of the 2004 World Boomerang Championships and then return, like a boomerang, to Peoria, Illinois, USA.
It has accomplished this epic adventure thanks to you, awesome geocachers.
This small boomerang arrived in France, briefly and amazingly, in the same month as the World Boomerang Championships thereby accomplishing its primary goal. Charleville-Mézières, FRANCE hosted the World Boomerang Championships July 12-21, 2004.
It has since, 6 years later, arrived in Peoria, IL and been caught by the thrower.
Many happy returns to all who helped this travel bug on it's flight.
Catch the magic! Throw boomerangs!

What can we say? Against all odds this travel bug flew 19,883 miles to Paris, France and back to Peoria, IL.
Thank you to everybody who opened a box and saw this little boomerang inside. A big thank you to those who picked it up, and fulfilled the travel bug contract of moving it on for the next person. And special thanks to some key individuals on it's journey - Mortiana27 for the final leg from eastern Illinois to Peoria; sbosecker who plucked out of a west coast thermal, then shot it across the Atlantic; Walaby77 recognizing her Australian origins and bringing back across the Atlantic; Centris for infecting Gazza with the bug for bugs; Boomsmith for sharing the magic. We believe it to be the magic inherent in boomerangs kept this one found and moving. Sitting here a few weeks shy of 7 years, we honestly did not expect to ever hold this boomerang in our hands - nevermind that it reached France the same month as the 2004 World Boomerang Cup.
This is a unique game we all play in geocaching. Keep the quality up, making it fun for everyone.

Picked this up. We are heading back to Michigan, but will drop it off in Champaign as that is closer to Peoria.

I'm bringing this back to southern Illionis for Thanksgiving in a couple of weeks. Wouldn't it be neat if it got back to Peoria right when it reached the 20,000 mile mark?
