About This Item

This is The Big One travel bug. It is a fake Christmas tree that has been glued together. Traveling with this tb is the puzzle needed to locate the micro for The Big One ( cache gc19014 ).

To log a find for The Big One cache you must first get your hands on The Big One travel bug and move it from its current hiding spot to a new location. I started it off at N 42 32.169 W 71 28.675. You must move the whole tree, not just the puzzle. Hiding the tree in same woods is not allowed. When hiding the The Big One look for a spot that is off the main trail / not in plain view/ blends ok . Leave the new hiding spot coordinates in a log on this travel bug page. The tb should remain within 30 miles of Littleton . Discoveries of The Big One tb are not allowed. It must be moved. Failure to comply with these rules may result in a deleted log.

Oh how time has not been kind to this poor trackable. I had heard stories of past gradoiur from BTC89, so when it appeared in a manner that I could pick it up, I didn't waste the chance. Now it sits protected from the coming storm, and for it's next location.

Apparent error in the link to the Cabin in the Woods cache. Look for GCAHCY0.

Single largest travel bug we’ve seen. Will get it planted again very soon.

We went searching for this today - I'll be passing it along to my folks before leaving the area for them to rehide, but I wanted to make sure to get credit for finding this!

I finally dropped this one off. My wife is happy to have it out of the garage, where it had been living since mid-January.

Naturally I wanted to hide it near one of my own caches. Originally I planned to hide it near A Sign of Superman?, but when I got nearby I discovered that the area where it's hidden is under construction, and all the paths leading there are closed. 😞

So instead we brought it to my Mystery TB Hotel. The Big One is hidden in a small hemlock tree about 30 feet to the east of the cache. Sorry, you'll need to solve the mystery if you want to find this TB. But it's a relatively easy puzzle, and if you're stuck, feel free to message me and ask for a hint.

I've had this on my watch list for a while, and saw Hypercycloid's log a few day's ago confirming its location. Today I happened to be just down the road from the Bug Hotel where it was residing, and even though it's crazy cold out, decided to go grab it. I'll try to move it along to some new woods soon.

Looking at some of the pictures in the gallery, it's clear that this tree is just a shadow of its former self, but then again, it's doing pretty well for having been out in the woods for over 14 years.

I was at the Boxborough Bug Hotel today, and I can verify that the TB is indeed at these coordinates. Looking a little scraggly, adding to its Charlie Brown Christmas charm.
