These six happy fat men are out on a lark. Will they stay together? Will they pick up hitchhikers? Will they have adventures? Will they attain enlightenment? It's out of my hands. G'bye boys! Have fun!
The Laughing Buddha or Fat Buddha of China is based on Chang Dingzi, a monk from Chekiang Province who lived from 907 to 1060. He was an itinerate teacher around the end of the Tang and beginning of the Wu-Tai Dynasties. Everyone called him Pu Tai or "cloth bag" from his luggage. He may actually have been fat, or his round belly may embody the Chinese idiom for tolerance — to have a "big stomach." Rubbing the belly of Ta-pao Mi-Lei-Fwo, the Laughing Buddha, is supposed to bring luck. You'll have to use your pinky finger, I'm afraid.
I bought this six pack of Buddhas at a flea market in Northern Rhode Island. I paid a buck American, so at today's exchange rate, they're worth....9.296916p each. So take care of them! They're supposed to represent safe travel, love, long life, wisdom, happy home and prosperity...but I couldn't work out which one was which, except the travel one (who has a bag on his back), of which there were inexplicably two. These fat boys were meant to travel!

Found it in '11 Counties View', I think 'Tribe B' picked it up and placed it there without logging it. I've added a 'Robin' and will place it somewhere soon. Pic attached of current occupants, only 2 Buddahs left.
