The first finder was able to read the Runes to locate me: now I'll bring good luck to all who carry me forward. Perhaps it will begin to spawn more gold rings if encouraged - its spiritual home is in a Viking or Tolkien-esque cache somewhere, and placing it there may begin the process.
"Odin laid upon the pyre the gold ring called Draupnir; this quality attended it: that every ninth night there fell from it eight gold rings of equal weight".
This was Odin’s emblem of abundance and power. Perhaps the most precious known object, it dripped eight similar gold rings every ninth night, consolidating his vast wealth and dominion over the nine worlds. It was crafted by the dwarf Sindri, while his brother Brokk pumped the bellows.
In tremendous grief Odin cast the ring upon Balder’s funeral pyre, but later retrieved it when Hermod ventured to Hel. This return symbolized the seasonal change and promise of fertility after the winter blight.
