About This Item

Filbert's Frequent Flyer Card #8.jpg

Filbert Geocache....well he's an ‘anorak’, in particular a plane spotter! He devotes all his spare time visiting the observation decks of airports around the world.

Clutching a well-worn note book Filbert religiously records the registration details of any commercial aircraft he spots. Filbert also likes to collect airline memorabilia - safety demonstration cards, sick bags and luggage tags just to name a few.

It comes as no surprise Filbert is a member of just about every frequent flyer program he can sign up to! Filbert is happiest when he is flying, ensconced in an economy class seat, sipping his free beverage, racking up the frequent flyer points and recording every trivial detail of the flight in his note book!

Add to Filbert’s happiness by taking his frequent flyer card #8 TB on your next flight, whether its for business or pleasure. Be sure to record all the details - the flight number, plane model and rego, departing airport, destination and flying time! Look out for Filbert's other frequent flyer cards #1, #2, #3, #4, #5, #6, #7, #9, #10, #11, #12, #13, & #14, on your travels.

“Filbert, I’m thinking of going to Holland for a week’s holiday. What are the local tourist attractions?”

“Gosh, you could spend a week at the Luchtvaart Hobby Shop. It’s near Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport! It features nearly 8000 different aviation books, over 8000 aircraft modelkits, over 5000 different decalsets, over 3000 postcards, hundreds of video's and dvd's, diecast and desktop models, flight simulator software and hardware, pilot supplies, eardefenders, binoculars, charts, maps, T-shirts, patches...”

“Filbert, STOP!”

“...It has a real DC3 cockpit is on permanent display. A former Indian Air Force TS-11 Iskra Jet trainer. A Flight Simulator demo set up around a real Scud rocket...”

“FILBERT! Listen, I’ve decided I’m NOT going to Holland.”

The TB prepares to leave Australia from Melbourne International.

The flight was Quantas QF9, routing Melbourne via Singapore to London Heathrow. Boeing 747 - 400, flying economy. Departure was delayed by 25 mins as the 'bus sent to collect the crew from Melbourne broke down'. Arrival in London was on time.

We found this TB in 'Quasimodo's dream' - which was a pleasant surprise!

I think a trip to the UK is appropriate.

Filbert got a cheap special with Qantas flying from ADL - MEL on QF694 on Sunday 26 Sept. Filbert sat in seat 12A (the one that's in the exit row with the extra leg room 🙂) Filbert enjoyed his flight very much!
