Howdy, pardners. I am a travel bug from the Great State of Texas. Dallas, to be correct. I hope to travel from the NE U.S., where my owner first deposited me, all across North America, including Canada. I'd really love to see the Canadian Rockies as well as the California coast. Maybe even some of Mexico. If you're a traveler, please take me with you. Better yet, snap a photo of me and you travelling the countryside and post it here!!!
It was first deposited on July 24, 2004 in the P.T. Barnum cache, GC1DD5. It contains three items: 1) a "Don't Mess w/TX" Texas license plate, 2) a Texas Sunshine keychain and 3) a Finish flag key plus the dog tag.
The "Don't Mess With Texas" slogan is often mistaken for simple Texan bravado. In reality, it was a brilliant anti-littering advertising campaign by the Texas Department of Transportation. Learn more about the campaign by visiting (visit link) And when you come to the great state of Texas, please don't litter! Thanks, Y'all!
