Current Goal

Our 2nd grade class is setting out two travel bugs for a friendly competition. This blue bike - the BLUE FLAME- is racing against a green bike (the TURBO TREKKER). We hope to learn some geography as we map out the travels of our bikes!

Here's a new Canadian province for you guys to look up. Quebec, the French part of Canada, lies right alongside the Ottawa area. Gatineau Park is a National Capital Commission park just north of Ottawa, and it's full of geocaches! Google Earth it and see!

This Travel Bug is about to go on a big trip

I brought this TB to Cuba even though they don't allow GPS units there. There were two caches quite close to my hotel, but I wasn't able to find either one. 😟

I posted some of my pictures from Cuba anyway. I will drop this TB somewhere in Canada soon.

  • Banana tree in Cuba There are lots of small banana plantations in Cuba. The banana tree can produce bananas within 8 months of being planted. Each tree produces only one bunch of bananas.
  • Farmer in Cuba Farmers near Holguin Cuba depend on horses to do a lot of the work. Almost everything is done by hand. There are very few tractors or even cars.
