We are living in Darmstadt. Darmstadt lies within the federal state of Hesse right in the heart of central Europe. It covers the southern part of the Rhine-Main area and borders the Odenwald as well as the Mountain Road (Bergstraße). Darmstadt is situated nearby the rivers Rhine, Main and Neckar. Frankfurt/ Main and Heidelberg are easily accessible from here.

Darmstadt provides around 100,000 jobs to 140,000 inhabitants - an extremely favourable correlation.
Over 30 research institutions, which include four Fraunhofer Institutes, the GSI, and two Universities of Applied Sciences, are resident in Darmstadt.
Darmstadt made also a name for itself among the Jugendstil (Art Nouveau) metropolises of Europe.

Driving from Darmstadt to Frankfurt city we pass the Airport which is one of the biggest in Europe, there are 80.000 people working at the Airport.
Near the Airport you find the “Rosinenbomber”
The west Berliners population from the 26th June, 1948 to the 27th August, 1949 from the air supplied the aerial bridge the allied armed forces with food and goods of the everyday life, after the Soviets had bolted the city. About 277,000 flights brought 2.3 million metric tons of foods in the enclosed city. About 300 airplanes were round-the-clock in use an application. The most important airport was Frankfurt.
