Hi Class,
I'm sorry for keeping your TB so long - unfortunately, I'm quite busy since a couple of months, always travelling around the world, but there's no time for geocaching though. That's why I was looking forward to my vacation. I and two friends of mine have planned a trip to Mexico. We started in Cancun, rented a car and travelled down to the Chetumal, which is right at the border to Belize, then further to the west until we ended up in Palenque. This is in the middle of the rainforest not very far from Guatemala, and is one of the most beautiful places, I've ever been to. Your TB, by the way, was supposed to be placed there. In Palenque, there's an area with old Maya temples. The cache at that location, however, was gone so I just could log in and out the bug as a proof it has been there. Later we went on to Campeche, a nice city at the coast of the Gulf of Mexico, and back to Cancun in order to get our flight back to Germany. The bug is in a cache close to my home in Germany, now. It's a frequently visited one, so I think your TB will be travelling further soon.
I myself live in Aachen for several years. I started studying Mechanical Engineering in 2001, have lived in Shanghai/China for one year (made an internship and my diploma thesis there) and at present I'm making my PhD here in Aachen.
Aachen is a nice city with about 100,000 inhabitants. It's the most western city in Germany and has a very old history. The Romans already founded the city nearly 2000 years ago and their stuff is still found when digging for road building. The oldest building, which is still a part of our townhall can be dated back to around the year 800. Outstanding for such an old tower, it had a water toilet as well as an underfloor heating.
There are many things in Aachen, I could tell you about, but I think it's better to send you some pictures. Might take some time, but I'll try!
Greetings from Germany,
Sascha
