Travel around and show cachers a place they need to go.
What you have now is a plain plywood oval disc. That's because the orignal lighthouse replica has gone MIA. After 4 years I'm restarting it, but with something not collectable. Below is the write up on the original TB.
Most of us have heard of Cape Hatteras, but far less know that the furtherest you can drive on the Outer Banks is the town of Ocracoke, famous as Blackbeard's hide out and the place where he was finally captured and killed. This relatively small lighthouse is now part of the National Park Service. However the Outer Banks don't end there. Go across Ocracoke inlet and you will reach Portsmouth Island and one of the most remote of the National Parks, Portsmouth Village. This is the north end of Cape Lookout National Seashore. My wife and I spent 2 summers as volunteer caretakers for the NPS at Portsmouth Village. We were often alone on the island and at night we looked across the inlet to Ocracoke and the lighthouse. Sounds lonely but it wasn't. A great experience which were were very thankful that we got to do. There are 2 virtual geocaches on Portsmouth Village with only a total of 5 finds in a year. Maybe you need to check this out.
