Today I paid $1.00 and rescued this TB from Seeds of Hope, a local Thrift Shop. It is an interesting story as to why I even knew this TB was at the Thrift Shop - I will try to explain.
This last week we held a 20th Birthday celebration for the oldest active cache in ND. One of my geocaching friends had said a local cacher that is no longer active had reached out to her because they had some geocaching containers and what not that they would like to give her. I thought that was really neat and it sparked a memory in my mind, about an inactive cache that had posted to Facebook that they where looking for a local cacher to give a TB that they had picked up long ago and wanted to get it back moving in the game. My name was tagged in the post by several people as they know I am an active cacher in the area. I reached out to the poster of the Facebook message on January 2nd of 2020. They replied and we chatted back and forth a bit, we planned to meet the next day but due to work obligations it didn't work out. We chatted again and made plans to connect that weekend. Well I forgot about it and they must have too because I didn't hear from them again, until I reached out to them on March 30th 2021 to see if they still had the TB. They replied back the next day which is today that they didn't have it and had given it to Seeds of Hope and included a picture of it at the Thrift Shop and said it was $1.00.
I have a place in my heart for TB's so I needed to rescue it and get it back traveling. As soon as I got of work I went to the Thrift Shop. I looked around a bit and had no idea were to find the TB. I finally asked a worker and described what it looked like. The worker was so excited, she stated that she had just been looking though the keychains the day before and was wondering what the tag was about. She thought maybe someone from Amazing Race would come into the shop one day looking for it (LOL). I explained to her about geocaching and TB's. She was planning to check it out when she gets off work. Maybe this will create a new cacher in our area.
Anyway this is the story of how I have come to currently posses, this TB. I will take it on an adventure and drop it back into circulation soon.
