Got crabs?

Here in Kansas, seafood isn't exactly native. That's why I'm sending Buster out to find seafood for me. Specifically:

  1. As of 2002-09-26, there are 6 caches with the word "crab" in the name. (If you do a search on "crab", you'll turn up more than that; I'm excluding words in which "crab" appears, like "crabapple" and "scrabble".) I'd like Buster to eventually have been placed in all of them.
  2. Since the first one is bound to take a while (one of them is in Australia), the "along-the-way" goal is to visit places known for crabs and other seafood. Take his picture with Chesapeake Bay blue crabs; with a Maine lobsterman; with a plate full o' mudbugs in New Orleans; under the sign at Fisherman's Wharf. Even chatting with the lobsters in the tank at your local grocery store.
  3. I travel to the Washington DC area periodically, and I've always thought it would be neat to find there a travel bug I've seen here. So here's the third, "spur-of-the-moment" goal: When I know I'm going to be travelling to DC, I'll post which week. Buster's goal for that week is to end up in Can't Cache Me! #1 (GC12BA) some time that week, so I can see him again.

TL;DR: We don't have the trackable (and feel sorry for you if it means it is still missing), but stumbled upon its discovery code.

The story: I discovered this trackable/coin when I cracked the cache "Msportis Coinlihaus der 2." and then was able to reverse-engineer some Coins/TBs of the owner Msporti as well. By pure chance / luck while testing out possibilities for this I also came across this TB/coin. We hope that it's okay that we discover it, if not, feel free to delete this log. TFTC/TFTT 😉

I found this cute TB, and plan to put it in my cache on the Napa River. I have caught Striped Bass out of there, and it has a pretty good Salmon run in the fall, so Buster Crab will be in good company.

After talking Buster Crab into going to Fisherman's Wharf with us, he saw terrible sights. His cousins were stacked in a tank, some of them were even being cracked! To wash those pictures out of his mind, we set up a tour of Alcatraz. On the way over, he saw seagulls with a suspicious look on their faces. After the trip to Fisherman's Wharf, we put him in Momma Cache's Baby near the Embarcadero. Thanks! -fisherboy
