Current Goal

This is one half of a pair to try to determine which really is faster, the tortoise or the hare. They are both being released into the wild in the Baltimore area on the same date into different caches. The winner will be whichever gets to the San Jose area of California first-where we used to live. May the best man, er, creature win.

About This Item

What's up Doc?

This traveller is a small fuzzy wabbit who has already had a long journey-says he came from China on his bottom! Anyway try not to put them together in the same cache-they don't get along. We'll be watching out for them. I know they really like to travel so don't let them sit too long.

MD Hare is still in San Jose and no doubt gloating about winning the race with MD Tortoise. MD Hare may have won the battle but he lost the war... he is one sad looking Travel Bug. I think he must have met up with some rough customers along his journey. I will include a photo of his sorry condition which includes a frayed bow tie, patches of missing fur, punched in nose, and gouged out eye.

MD Hare needs a new detination goal now. I'll go ahead and send him out of San Jose.

Picked it out of the First Aid kit when we dropped off Kyle, the Sharptooth.

Admittedly it is hard to tell sometimes, what with the borders of San Jose being rather odd. Bit I'm pretty sure Travel Bug First Aid cache is in fact in San Jose, so the Hare has made it before the Tortoise (last seen in Nevada)!

So what now? Send it back to Maryland to see if the Tortoise can make up ground on the return trip? Onward to San Jose, Puerto Rico? We shall see.

We will get MD HARE as close to San Jose as we can. We are in CA and not that far from San Jose.

I found the MD Hare travel bug today in the Lincoln Park Cache in Spokane WA. I studied the log and it seems he made it as far south as Medford Oregon then made a wrong turn and came back North. It's cold and rainy here today and the poor little guy is near frozen death. I took him home, treated him for hypothermia with some hot carrot juice. The treatment Rx for this guy is a trip to Hawaii and I'll be takeing to either the Big Island or Kawaii in about a week and a half to continue his treatment. So, it'll be Aloha for the MD Hare. I know, I know, its a LITTLE out of the way but he needs more thawing after being in that cold cache for so long! In the meantime he's perched in front of my fireplace enjoying his hot carrot juice.
