Out at the Great Salt Lake again today...
Saltair is on the banks of the Great Salt Lake - about a hundred years ago, it was the Coney Island of the West - people would take trolley cars from Salt Lake City to visit the amusement park. It evidently had a fire or two and there isn't much left except for this building, the shells of some cable cars and some wood in the water that used to be the piers. Saltair is still open on weekends in winter and it sells things like salt water taffy, sea monkeys (brine shrimp), and the usual souvenirs like key chains and post cards.
Because of the 5 or 6 year drought we've been having, you can drive out to Black Rock now and climb it in about 5 minutes - in the more flooded years, sailboats sail around it.
