it seems that someone grabbed this jeep and maybe the cache too (again)(this cache had just been relisted and allready someone has said they could not find:( )) I will try and get out there this weekend and check it. For now I will just mark it as missing as the cache was found but it had no jeep. Hopefully it turns up somewhere soon

The Jeep legend continues! Today would have been a good day to have a Jeep in finding this challenging cache. From the urban enviroment to gravel roads and through sandy dunes I sought out to find this particular Jeep travel bug! I was leary to take the family vehicle - not sure how far the road would take me. Sure, it was posted at the cache page that there were multiple parking places, but they all seemed to put me almost a mile from the actual cache. Did I need to really bushwack my way that far to find this travel bug? Thinking like one who would appreciate the value of a Jeep vehicle, I continued up the road a bit further. A gate not usually availble was open and once going through it, there was no returning unless the Jeep Travel Bug was found! I can't think of a more symbiotic relationship than combining the passion of geocaching and a great ride that embraces that adventursome spirit! Isn't it about getting out and exploring the great outdoors? Having fun while doing it? Enabling individuals to do extrordinary things? There is the whole build up of anicipation when setting out to discover a new cache. The journey itself should be part of that anticipation. Our trusty steed took us as close as 362 feet, much closer than the 1 mile conservatively antincipated by the cache owner. The last portion was a hike with moderate bushwacking and then a refreshing swim in a secluded portion of a river. It was a great challenge and an adventure worthy of the Jeep Travel Bug.

Once a Jeep Owner, Always a Jeep Owner:

I bought my first Jeep while I served in the US Marine Corps in North Carolina. The 1981 CJ-7 handled everything I threw at it, including beach runs, tank trails and a cross-country drive to SoCal - topless!

My second Jeep was a yellow '83 CJ-7 I purchased in Oregon. Shortly after that, my new wife and I took a cross-country trip on our move to Pennsylvania, this time with the soft top on. I wanted more power for the steep hills near my home there, so in went a Chevy 350. Of course, that led to more modifications, none of which included drivetrain upgrades, because the stock running gear took the V8 power just fine.

I envisioned many years of fun with my wife and kids in Jeeps, but alas, it hasn't taken place. The yellow Jeep was sold at the first news of our newborn girl, never to be replaced with another Jeep, at least so far. Now with two young kids who would enjoy a Jeep as much as daddy, I long for a new Wrangler, especially one of the Unlimiteds!

When the coil-spring Wrangler was introduced in '97 I shrieked along with many other Jeep people, Then I drove one on- and off-road and became a believer. For a family man like me, an Unlimited Rubicon would be the absolute ultimate vehicle. Then again, any Wrangler would be the ultimate vehicle for me.

Sorry for the wet shoulder, and thanks for listening!

Pablo Mac snagged this Jeep Travel Bug right after jobthedog placed it here. I'm thinking of a good cache to place it in...My "No Man Is One" cache isn't getting very much traffic...

I'm a Jeep fanatic who is between Jeeps. Such a sad place to be. I was laid off my job the day I was supposed to pick up my new Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, so I was forced to cancel the order. Sure wish I could win one...
