Geocaching gets you out; Jeep gets you there. While on a recent vacation in the state of Arkansas we introduced my parents to Geocaching. We decided to try a cache out at a nearby lake. We drove out to the lake in my parent’s air-conditioned minivan and found the “road” that led to the cache. There was no way the minivan was going to make the drive up that “road”. We decided to walk it instead. It’s a pretty steep incline with rolling gully washes on it. We made it less than 100 yards up the “road” when we realized that we out of towners, you see we’re from Alaska, were not going to make it. It was just too darn hot and humid. Reluctantly we headed back down to the minivan to stew in our defeat. Wouldn’t you know it my son would mention “wouldn’t it have been nice to have a Jeep?” Leave it to the kid to point out the obvious.
