Lapu-Lapu war der Stammeshäuptling der philippinischen Insel Mactan, dem zugeschrieben wird, den portugiesischen Entdecker Ferdinand Magellan in der Schlacht bei Mactan 1521 besiegt zu haben.

Dieser Geocoin möchte die nach seinem berühmten Namensgeber benannte Stadt Lapu-Lapu City kennenlernen, sowie die drei Hauptinselgruppen der Philippinen, nämlich Luzon, Visayas und Mindanao, bereisen.

Lapu-Lapu was chieftain of the filipino island of Mactan who is attributed with having defeated portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan in the battle of Mactan in 1521.

This geocoin wants to visit the city named after the chieftain, Lapu-Lapu City, as well as to travel around the Philippines' three major island groups Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
