Geocache Description:

This is the 4th in a series of Geocaches that will map out the routes of the famous road race - The Targa Florio

The Targa Florio was an open road endurance race held in the mountains of Sicily near Palermo. Founded in 1906, it was the oldest sports car racing event, part of the World Sportscar Championship between 1955 and 1973. The Circuito Piccolo delle Madonie was used from 1932-1936 and 1951-1977. It was 72 kilometres (45 mi) long, and was lapped 11 times.

To follow the Circuito Piccolo delle Madonie, then you will need to find caches "Targa Florio 01, 02, 03, 04, & 05". If these first caches prove popular, then I will add more to mark out the other routes used.

Full List:

Targa Florio 01
Targa Florio 02
Targa Florio 03
Targa Florio 04
Targa Florio 05

Targa Florio 04 will take you to the town of Collesano. Throughout the town are reminders of the great race and famous drivers. There is also an interesting museum dedicated to the Targa Florio located just down the road.

The cache is a micro (nano) magnetic, due to the town centre location.

This series of caches is not designed to be difficult to find, so the hint and spoiler photo should lead you right there once at GZ.

If heading to Targa Florio 05, take the SP9 to Campofelice Di Roccella.

FTF ------- Gerrier. Congratulations!
