You can enjoy either two shorter circular walks, or a longer one of approximately 10 miles through the spectacular limestone scenery of the Malham area finding these caches along the way. Most of the caches contain the usual items PLUS ADDITIONAL INFORMATION so that you can find out more about the geology of this interesting and beautiful area.
Around this cache are extensive areas of limestone pavement and impressive scars. The landscape is also rich in archaeology with evidence of ancient settlements throughout the limestone pastures. During medieval times large areas of the uplands were used by the monastic houses at Fountains Abbey and Bolton Priory to graze sheep. Please note: the co-ordinates given above are not for the location of this cache - they are for Water Sinks, near the road just south of Malham Tarn. To find the location of this cache you must find Great Close and Back Pasture caches, each of which contain half of the co-ordinates of the Plantation cache.
