You can enjoy either two shorter circular walks, or a longer one of approximately 10 miles through the spectacular limestone scenery of the Malham area finding these caches along the way. Most of the caches contain the usual items PLUS ADDITIONAL INFORMATION so that you can find out more about the geology of this interesting and beautiful area.
The cache site is on Open Access land, as defined under the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000, on high ground to the south west of Water Sinks.
The surrounding landscape is dominated by Malham Tarn, the highest natural lake in Yorkshire and the source of the River Aire. Nearby, at Water Sinks, the infant river vanishes through deep limestone fissures into the ground. Further information about these features and where the River Aire reappears is given in the cache.
