Famous Five - Llyn Tegid Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

Southerntrekker: Hi There

As the owner has not responded to either my log or my colleague's previous log requesting that they check this cache I am archiving it.

Please note that once the cache has been archived, this can not be undone. This is explained in the Help Center - http://support.groundspeak.com//index.php?pg=kb.page&id=70

You will need to create a new listing, put it back in for review and as long as it meets today's guidelines and no other caches have been published in the area causing a proximity problem, then it will be published.

Regards

Geocache Description:

This cache is part of a series of five famous lakes/reservoirs located in North Wales. These multi-caches comprise of a 35mm film canister leading onto a regular sized ammo box. Each box contains a clue, leading to a sixth lake, (THE BONUS) which is not quite so famous but nevertheless well worth a visit.

The co-ords given above are for the micro, in the micro you will find the co-ords for the regular sized ammo box. This is a 2 stage multi cache. You find the micro which has the co-ords for the Ammo box which has lovely views overlooking Bala lake.

Oswalds Cross

Set in the beautiful Snowdonia National Park Llyn Tegid, better known as Bala Lake is Wales' largest natural lake. The Arans to the south and the Arenigs to the north west make this a wonderful area for the mountain walker. The lake itself caters for all types of water sports with the exception of motorised craft. And for the railway enthusiast a small gauge railway line runs from Bala down to Llanuwchllyn in the south a very pleasant ride along the lake's shoreline. The lake has a good population of coarse fish, as well as big pike a protected breed of fish called gwyniad is present in the lake.

Suitable parking for the micro is at the picnic site at Llangower Station and for the final ammo box you can park right next to the cache location. Retrieve the co-ords from micro for the final.

The micro is a magnetic film canister.

Please be extra careful at the micro cache location and if there are lots of muggles around please don't attempt. Also watch out for thorns and brambles!

Good Luck!
