The
Wayward Wanderers
of
Melderyn
present:
Triangle
Long before the geometric and mathematical implications of the
triangle were in effect, it was a strong symbol of the Wayward
Wanderers. It was based on their three strongest virtues,
Trustworthiness, Reliability and Integrity. Using the first letters
of these virtues, the wanderers came up with the prefix TRI which
meant 3. Many millennia later different civilisations would adapt
TRI into their own language some even claiming its origin. We all
know, however, that the Wanderers were the true originators. The
second part of the word triangle came from the elves’ word
for point, which is angle. Having three points was an important
concept of societies back then. Having an odd number insured a
deciding vote in government, courts of law and even in town makeup.
Probably the best example of this was the city of Kiyt-de lumbax.
It consisted of three hamlets Geebolic to the north, Kleofy to the
west, and Nawquit to the south. With one representative from each
hamlet to vote, arguments were settled easily. In the old days a
cache was placed in honour of Kiyt-de lumbax using the information
from the hamlets to disguise the cache’s location. Today a
cache is placed to honour another great city. Perhaps you can use
the same methods to figure out where this cache is. Good luck and
have fun.

The Wayward Wanderers were a group of Rangers from a bygone
Dungeons and Dragons era. Coming from the Kingdom of Melderyn, near
the Never Ending Forest, in the mystical Land of Noth, they used
their skills in tracking and living off the land to quest by
themselves or to help others find gold, gems and other treasures,
much like the modern day cacher of today. Their free spirit and
inquisitive minds allowed them to develop many of today’s
modern ideas and conveniences. A little sneaky at times, they have
left several puzzle caches for the modern day cacher to enjoy.
