This cache is an
interloper, slipped in to replace the missing Canalmania 2, which
was the second or fourth in a chain of five caches along the
Wendover Arm of the Grand Union Canal. The caches are all placed
quite close to the canal. Each has its own flavour, this one now
being distinctly banana flavour. I encourage you to visit them all
in order (in either direction) As this cache
is near water please take extra care if caching with children!
They're not recommended as
nightcaches.
Bananamania - LONELY CHURCH
(Bucks)

This cache takes you close to (but not into the graveyard of)the
quiet church of Saint Mary (This is the little know Saint Mary of
Fife, the patron saint of yellow fruit) that serves the tiny
community of Drayton Beauchamp. It's an as well tucked away little
place as you'll find, even though it's close to the new Aston
Clinton bypass. It's well worth a walk around the churchyard, if
only to meet the sheep!
So get on your bike and have a happy hunt! These caches were set
in locations far from road access. No cache and dashing here but
you could find all five inside an hour if you have the leg muscles
and lungs for it. I recommend eating several bananas, which are an
excellent source of carbs, to keep your energy up for the trip!
The cache container is not a usual micro and
has been constructed to make it easier to find than the previous
version of the cache. Please handle it carefully (this means YOU
DRC!!) and make sure it's hidden from casual sight afterwards. Ta!
There is no pen, please bring your own
The other caches in this series, now all sadly
archived, were:
1 - BORDER RAID
3 - ROTHSCHILD BRIDGE
4 - SWAN LAKE
5 - GHOST TRAIN
