Geocache Description:

Welcome to the Fairfield County History Geo Trail - Our trail will take you all over Fairfield County to many of our small historic towns that make up this great county. We hope you have fun and experience all our county has to offer.

Welcome to Smeck Farm Historical Park – Smeck Farm sits next to a Old Erie Canal Culvert that was built to carry the creek through to the canal basin. The culvert was built of Stone and Oak Beams that are approximately 160 Years old and is almost 100 feet long. .

Fairfield County Historical Parks has plans for the 50 acre farm with an 1841 double forebay barn to be turned into a historical village where classes will be taught and visitors will be able to experience some of the “nearly lost” arts. There is also a stone blacksmith shop being erected on the property. .

Currently there are hiking trails that take you back on the farms property. The Old House and Barn are not open and off limits to visitors.
