This cache series follows the route of one of Iowa’s most ambitious
road building programs – the plank road between Burlington and
Mount Pleasant. Several historical markers commemorate the Plank
Road route. These were placed by various chapters of the Daughters
of the American Revolution. Successful completers of this series
will be able to collect the clues to a special bonus cache in the
area.
Toll Booth #7 - This is the seventh in the plank road series.
Container is waterproof match container located in an indigenous
naturally occurring aggregate of minerals and/or mineraloids.
Congratulations to BJCheryl on FTF! The Old Plank Road passed near
this location as it headed toward Mt. Pleasant. If you spend some
time in the Northwest corner of this area you will find the final
resting spot of the town founder's brother, Solomon Dover. Hope you
stopped in the city park between here and Toll Booth #6 - Dover.
Information for the
BONUS CACHE will be found there in a familiar location for this
series.
