***August 8, 2007 Mission UPDATE***
We'd like to get this coin back to us so we can make a few changes then send it back out to gather more humor. Please try to move this coin towards Chelmsford, MA (N42 35.700 W071 21.396). Thank you, and happy caching!

*Original Mission*
In memory of my dad who had a wonderful sense of humor, so much so that his nickname was Jolly Wally. This coin's mission is simply to move from cache to cache gathering humorous stories, jokes, etc. Please post a funny story, anecdote, or joke when you log your find.

About This Item

Wally's Humor Geocoin

My dad (Wally) died in 2001 of cancer. His incredible sense of humor has been inherited by all of his children (and working its way into the next generation as well). Wally served in the Navy on the USS Shannon during the early 1950's so any Navy related anecdotes and/or pictures would be extra special!

Bushwhack Bob moved the coin from "Feeling Impaired?" to "Gimme' Direction Offset". He contributed the following:

For a couple years I've been blaming it on lack of sleep, not enough sunshine, too much pressure from my job, earwax build-up, poor blood or anything else I could think of. But now I found out the real reason: I'm tired because I'm overworked. Here's why:

The population of this country is 273 million. 140 million are retired.

That leaves 133 million to do the work.

There are 85 million in school.

Which leaves 48 million to do the work.

Of this there are 29 million employed by the federal government.

Leaving 19 million to do the work.

2.8 million are in the armed forces preoccupied with killing Osama Bin Laden.

Which leaves 16.2 million to do the work.

Take from the total the 14.8 million people who work for state and city governments.

And that leaves 1.4 million to do the work.

At any given time there are 188,000 people in hospitals.

Leaving 1,212,000 to ! do the work.

Now, there are 1,211,998 people in prisons.

That leaves just two people to do the work.

You and me.

And there you are sitting on your backside, at your computer, reading jokes.

Taking this coin to caches I visit ... logging miles

The hotel clerk was getting a trifle weary. "Look, sailor, I've told you eight times already - we don't have any rooms left. We're full up!" Petty Officer Quiggle was persistent.
"If the Secretary of the Navy came in, would you have room for him?" "Why, of course!" exclaimed the clerk.
"Well," said Quiggle, "let me have his room - he's not coming." Author: Unknown

Bushwhack Bob logged this into my geocache in the State of Virginia, but had not logged it through this log. I will retrieve it, drop it where he did, then pick it up from there so it will log the miles traveled. Humour to follow .....

"The new Ensign was assigned to subs, where he'd dreamed of working since a young boy. He was trying to impress the Master Chief with his expertise learned in Submarine School.
The Master Chief cut him off quickly and said, "Listen, 'sir', it's real simple. Add the number of times we dive to the number of times we surface. Divide that number by two. If the result doesn't come out even, don't open the hatch." Author - unknown

My sister Kim reminded me of this one:

One night I went to bed hungry and dreamt I ate a giant marshmallow. When I woke up my pillow was gone! 😁
