This is a travalling cache dedicated to BASEBALL!! The bug's goal is to travel over the U.S. and Canada in search of everything baseball. (See detailed description below)

About This Item

This is the exact wording on the sheet in the cache:


“For The Love of the Game…”

- This is a traveling cache dedicated to the greatest game in all of history: BASEBALL!

- This travel cache wishes to go all over the country and into Canada seeking out baseball related items (i.e. games, parks, players, monuments, etc…).

Pictures are more than welcome. Either place them in the attached zip lock bag or email them to: teamhawaii@yahoo.com

· RULES!!!

1) Do not remove the travel bug or log from the cache.
2) If you take baseball cards replace them with an equal number of cards.
3) All items placed in the cache must be baseball related.
4) NO PICTURES ARE TO BE TAKEN FROM ZIPLOCK BAG!
5) LOG MUST BE SIGNED BY ALL!

· SPECIAL TASKS

- These are tasks that want greatly to be completed in the travel cache’s wanderings. A picture is required for completion of these tasks. Again, place them in the zip lock bag or email them to: teamhawaii@yahoo.com. Put your name on the back of the picture. (check when completed)

8) Picture of cache enjoying a beer at Brewer park _________

Some other suggestions: key chains of favorite teams, cards, pictures of childhood parks, kids playing ball in yards, other major league points of interest, ANYTHING BASEBALL!

    I took the bug on a tour of NYSE&G Stadium today, home of the double A Binghamton Mets. I will move it shortly as my work schedule permits.

    Finally after all this time we got For the Love of the Game out to the Baseball Hall of Fame. We took several pictures that we will post at a later date.

    After leaving there we took For the Love of the Game to a cache Gilbert Lake State Park. There was not a good place to have left it there as it would have given away the cache site. We will try to get this placed in the next couple days and get it traveling to hopefully soon very exciting places.

    Today we took this travel bug to an interesting park in Auburn, NY for the "Casey" at the Park cache. We logged it in, traded a baseball card and took a picture in front of the Falcon Park entrance near Casey Park.

    We are logging "For the Love of the Game" out again as we have more plans for it's travels.

    Added a Fenway Park ticket & info about that game; a Shea Stadium photo; a Durham Bulls at Indianapolis ticket; and the opening 2 pages of Rhody Roots. Had tried to leave him at Deadman's Hill cache in Pawtucket, but couldn't find it.

    What a pleasant surprise!! I live for baseball, especially the Boston Red Sox and whatever teams my son plays for. (UMass/Amherst next September) Not many baseball games in Rhode Island in January, but I'll trade Greg Swindell, Willie McGee, & Andy for Kazuhiro Sasaki and I will find something else to add. I'm also a SABR member and am writing a book called "Rhody Roots: The 69 Rhode Island Born Major Leaguers."
